Upgrade Instructions
You can first try the windows or CAB installer. Check your version number at the bottom of the QCaps user interface. Make sure it says that the correct (latest) version is installed. If you see "?.??" or the old version number, please follow the instructions below to ensure a failsafe upgrade. If you have QTask installed, it is highly recommended to uninstall it prior to updating QCaps and reinstalling it after your new QCaps version is installed.
We recommend the following procedure to upgrade your QCaps Software.
- If QTask is installed, remove it.
- Uninstall your current version of QCaps.
- Reboot your Device.
- Reinstall the new version of QCaps .
- Reinstall QTask.
Version History
Version 1.09Q Released November 21st, 2006
** FIXED - An issue causing letters to be dropped/missed when typing fast.
** FIXED - ALT + Y now properly inserts a ")".
Version 1.08Q Released November 14th, 2006
** ADDED - QCaps can now insert even more special characters. My favorite is that the spacebar can now insert an underscore! I use that all the time too! You no longer have to hold ALT + SHIFT and pull up the extra character screen!
Key -> sequence
---------------------
space -> space _ ~
T -> t T ( [
Y -> y Y ) ]
G -> g G # {
H -> h H ! }
V -> v V / <
B -> b B \ >
I -> i I + %
0 -> ? 0 |
. -> . ' ^
NOTE: You will see the cursor wiggle a little bit when inserting these new special characters. You will barely notice the wiggle and it shouldn't affect typing at all.
** CHANGED - Softkeys, Answer, and Power buttons are NOT associated with the "Ignore Wake Key" feature so that alarms, dismiss, answer, ignore etc... can be clicked the first time (no need to double click).
** ** FIXED - Login Dialogue window bug and 3rd Party App Contact List bug. Programs using a dialogue window or the contact list were losing focus while typing (for example, signing into MSN or using txtMan).
** FIXED - A bug where capital letters would get stuck on after Auto Sentence Completion, and then moving to a new screen before typing any other letters.
** FIXED - A bug that caused undesired results after holding down the ALT key for an extended period of time.
** FIXED - Keys that have double taps associated with them were inserting lowercase letters instead of capital letters when typing very fast.
** FIXED - Hitting backspace then immediately holding down a letter to insert a capital was inserting a lowercase letter instead.
** FIXED a bug that would cause the QCaps trial to expire too soon.
** FIXED a very small memory leak in the trial version. Registered versions were not affected.
** GUI now pulls the QCaps .dll version from the registry which helps to see if new qcaps.dll versions properly install
** QCaps has a new Icon. |
